The set is minimal. It is at most times an open stage for performing with some appropriate props used during songs and eras.
Show Synopsis:
One of the most successful Cabaret shows ever, Decades, takes the audience on a nostalgic trip of musical Americana from the mid-19th Century up till the present day. A smash-hit for two seasons off-Broadway, Decades presents over 150 years of American music in this collage of popular songs, dance, and images, touching certain times and emotions in recent American history that together make a thematic statement on the greatness of our country.
The songs featured set the styles and moods of each period, all reflecting a rising or waning of American optimism thought the decades up until present day. Its extraordinary success in having more than one and a half million audience members whistle and shout their approval is generally attributed to the great variety of characters and thematic ups and downs that represent the fabric of this country over its incredible growth and development.
